When Leny and I (Sam) discovered Oaxaca, we completely fell in love with the San Antonino Embroidery. We were absolutely amazed by this beautiful embroidery. In fact, it was one of the embroideries we included in our first design, the Tapatia Blouse.
It's very important for us to share with you and for you to know who gives meaning to each Mexicanartes garment, so today we want to introduce you to Ángeles. She and her family collaborate with Mexicanartes by embroidering our Tapatíos blouses and dresses.
Embroidery involves first transferring the design to the fabric, then placing it on a wooden hoop, also known as a frame, and then embroidering with silk or cotton thread using a filling technique. Each garment takes up to four weeks to complete.
Their garments are also known for their wonderful embroidery techniques, such as filling, do-it-yourself, crochet, and unraveling.
We are happy and proud, but above all, very grateful that Ángeles and her family give meaning to our garments with their wonderful art.
