What do you consider yourself good at?

Upon hearing this question, many of us would be making a list of all the things we are good at, although for others it is not that simple.

I remember perfectly in my first job interview, I was sitting in front of a man who was the Psychologist of the company where I would begin my career in the workplace, he took a piece of paper and said to me:

Leny, tell me what you're good at...

I was so embarrassed, I was trembling, because I didn't know how to answer... yes, not a single quality came to mind, just as you read, so incredible, that although I was already good at many things and also very young, my self-esteem was fragile, right there, in that chair, a whole process of growth and self-knowledge began; that stage lasted 8 years.

I'll tell you from my own experience, and you can verify it through yours.

These are some actions that helped me identify my strengths:

- Observe what attracts you: what you like to do, what you enjoy doing

- Observe in which aspects you have better results than others, what is easier for you

- Ask yourself this question: If money weren't a factor and fear didn't matter, what would I do? What would I like to do in my free time?

- Dare to do different things, say yes to challenges, move as far out of your comfort zone as possible, make yourself uncomfortable...

- Make lists, once you try it, list what you enjoyed and what you didn't, what you would try again and what you wouldn't even try for peace of mind...

- Ask others, those closest to you and those you trust, what they see in you? What positive aspects do they highlight?

- Research, read, take therapy, learn new things

- Stay around people who challenge you intellectually

- Have role models and learn from them

Knowing ourselves better gives us the opportunity to tap into our potential and offer it in service to others. This will make us fall more in love with ourselves, which will strengthen our self-esteem and self-confidence, resulting in a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

“See life as a great banquet. Serve yourself and verify through your own experience what attracts you and what you enjoy, and what doesn't, treasure it as a wonderful experience.”
